Life Lately

Miles on the road, places I’ve never been, new faces, delicious food, sweet memories, sharing truth, learning, and singing. This is what the month of September has looked like, in short.

September 1st I got on a plane for the first time by myself, and flew to the state of New York. I’ve never been past Pennsylvania, so this was quite a bit of new territory. Through a bizarre adventure including Rutland Vermont, and a biotech botanist I arrived safely in my new home at 5am.
In February I agreed to join a team called Redemption. A music team based out of Word of Life in Schroonlake NY. I would work for the ministry as a supported missionary and dedicate a year to music, traveling around the country encouraging churches, sharing the good news of Jesus Christ, and representing the ministry of WOL.
An amazing opportunity, to which I still feel under qualified.
So for the past 30 days I have been getting to know 10 strangers I now call family. We have hiked a mountain, learned over 13 songs, ministered to hundreds of people, spent over 20 hours in a van together and have shared many laughs and stories. It’s been beautiful to see how God so perfectly weaved our stories together, how intricate our testimonies relate to different souls we meet. We are such a diverse group of people. No two personalities are the same, and thats what makes this so great. We all bring something unique to the team. No matter how different we are, the one thing we have in common is Christ. He is the reason we all chose to dedicate a year to music, and travel. To make Him known, and share what great things He has done. That’s what is beautiful about this team. It has something to do with our talent, or abilities, but everything to do with Jesus, and His love for each and every one of us.

So, I sit in amazement. As a Florida girl, looking out my window at falling gold and red leaves. Admiring creation, and God’s blessings. I’ve seen places I’ve dreamed of since childhood, visited historical monuments, and met famous creators, but do you want to know the greatest part of this whole adventure? I get to introduce Jesus to people. That’s my job. To use music as a platform to break down walls and share the greatest truth ever known. It’s a dream come true, and I intend to enjoy every moment of this journey. So I will be sharing experiences, adventures, laughable moments, and what our sweet savior teaches me along the way. I would appreciate your prayers as the enemy seeks for ways to distract us from our goal. Pray that we would disappoint satan every day, every stop we make, every church we visit. That we make God’s name great and leave the roaring lion hungry.

-Romans 15:5-7
May the God of endurance and encouragement grant you to live in such harmony with one another, in accord with Christ Jesus, that together you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore welcome one another as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God. -

So I went to see Frozen recently. That was adorable.
I also couldn’t stop thinking about how well Elsa, and Jack Frost would get along  : )

Disney has forever given me unrealistic hair expectations. I felt like drawing a mermaid, and practicing digital painting.
